His press secretary says that is “private”

I spent all night convinced that my MacBook Air had a hardware failure—random text entry, clicking led to weird behavior, etc. I read console logs, booted into safe mode, performed hardware diagnostics. It turns out my cat was sitting on the wireless keyboard in the other room.

Archives pals may have realised, that this is about the AtoM site that I look after for @ThamesRCArchive@twitter.com
For non-archivists, it’s a web-based open source archival catalogue and discovery system:
I’m just at the limit of my Linux, command line and web server expertise, with not enough hours in the day to gain more, and I don’t want to knock the site offline by messing something up and having no one to talk to work out what’s gone wrong.

I guess it could be done over video calling although if it could be someone in London that I could meet in person, so much the better.

I’m trying not to become numb to the never-ending stories of this Conservative Government’s grifting and cheating.
If it were another country, we’d call it corruption.
Because that’s what it is.

It’s extraordinary and unprecedented that @nadhimzahawi@twitter.com negotiated his multimillion pound tax settlement with @HMRCgovuk@twitter.com while Chancellor of the Exchequer. See attached. I am staggered this was thought appropriate by either the cabinet secretary or Treasury…
Every now and then I remember the bravery of Christine Blasey-Ford.
I’m sure this will be a tough watch.
Mind you, I still don’t understand why the top trend in the ‘What’s happening’ column is always a US sports match, and there’s seemingly no way to get rid of it.
It is worth reading this in full.

There’s a very lengthy backstory to Nadhim Zahawi’s HMRC settlement, and lots of people have been asking me to summarise it. Here goes:

In the summer Zahawi said he was "being smeared" and "I've always declared my taxes."
Today the Guardian report that he has now paid taxes owed, interest, and a 30% fine, a total of £5 million.
Why did HMRC fine him if everything was above board?

Escalating pattern of criminal behaviour. Last year he fell in with a bad crowd and was in the wrong time in the wrong place. Now he's committing crimes on his own. We need to get this kid a mentor or by next year he'll be carrying a knife for his own protection. https://twitter.com/LancsPolice/status/1616501902337839111
