Today is the day I get fibre to the property, and not just to the nearest cabinet and then boosted across old copper cabling! Community Fibre due to install in a couple of hours. 🤞🏻
@andypiper I’m pretty lucky. Although I only have FttC, the cabinet is inside my building, about 10m from my modem.
@andypiper … that said, today, I am trying to play Forza on cloud gaming… not happening. I can get about 3 seconds out of it before it crashes out.
@pilchard to be fair, our cabinet was only a few metres away at the end of the street - and EE was a decent provider for us. Nevertheless, jumped from ~300 to ~1100mb on the wired connection now, for 30% of the cost. Calling it a win (until something breaks, when you know I'll shout about things...).
